“For poets, April really is the coolest month. And this is a very cool collection of poems inspired by April poetry prompts from multiple sources. Read the poems, check out the prompts that inspired them, and then, who knows? Maybe you’ll feel inspired to write your own!”
—Robert Lee Brewer author of Solving the World’s Problems
“Vince Gotera’s The Coolest Month leans into T. S. Eliot’s bromide for April while turning it on its head. Here, you’ll find a riot of poetic forms brimming with humor (both light and dark), poignant family stories, and delicious riffs on science fiction and fairy tales. Speaking of riffs, it’s even got a guitar! An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but as Gotera shows, a poem a day can help chase away the blues.”
