Meghan Thoreau is a wife, a mother, a planner, and a community activist who owns llamas and chickens and is interested in local food systems, sustainable agriculture, rural planning, renewable energy, tiny houses, the ukulele, gardening/canning, bicycling, and supporting sustainable lifestyles. She holds a BS in Construction Management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and a MRP in City and Regional Planning from Cornell University. She currently serves as the Deputy Director for the County Development Office in Brookings, SD. She’s responsible for planning, zoning, platting, and site plan review activities.
