The Lexicon of Sustainability (Tuesday March 24 at 1:00 PM, Hobo Day Gallery, SDSU Student Union)

Ross curates an innovative multi-media experience designed to increase understanding of vocabulary and context around “sustainability”. The Lexicon of Sustainability features thirty large, colorful poster-definitions. Some of the concepts are woven with threads of story and some pair with corresponding short films. The book, LOCAL, melds the collection into a potent, timely learning tool. Words can change the world and rebuild healthy sustainable local food systems.

Raised in Brookings, Ross enjoyed satisfying seasons in broadcasting, ministry and international development. She and her family returned to create a sustainable organic vegetable farm. She and husband, Bill, pioneer Good Roots Farm and Gardens, a forty acre learning farm featuring CSA veg production located 90 seconds from town. Julie plans farm events and flirts with agri-tourism. Her day job is wellness/life coaching. She recently wrote a book with a handful of friends. She and Bill have four sons.
